This October, two major art world events will take place in Paris. Get ready for FIAC, the major contemporary art fair, as well as an exceptional modern art exhibition presented by the Louis Vuitton Foundation in collaboration with the MoMA of New York.
The MoMA in Paris from October 11th 2017 to March 5th 2018
The Louis Vuitton Foundation presents 200 works drawn from the exceptional collections of New York’s Museum of Modern art (MoMA). These two respected institutions are co-organisers of this major exhibition, which was designed to fit perfectly into the spaces of the building designed by Frank Gehry. The MoMA, founded in 1929, is a museum dedicated to the visual arts of its time, and has acquired numerous works over the years, from those representative of the first major movements in modern art to the most recent digital works.
The exhibition begins in the first decade of the 20th century with iconic pieces such as Paul Cézanne’s Bathers, and Bird in Space by the Romanian sculptor Constantin Bracusi. The next section is devoted to Minimalism and Pop Art. The various artistic expressions interact with one another. Presented on the upper floor of the building are contemporary works recently acquired by the MoMA.
FIAC in Paris, art in all its forms
The 44th edition of the FIAC (Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain) takes place in Paris, from October 19th to 22nd, 2017, in the magnificent setting of the Grand Palais, where many internationally renowned galleries will be in attendance. The fair is grouped into three sectors. Within the Grand Palais you will find a General Sector and the Lafayette Sector, with the latter focussing on newer galleries. French and international artists alike are exhibited in the public spaces of Paris under the title Hors les Murs (Outside the Walls), in locations such as the Jardin des Tuileries and Place Vendôme.
Come and share the international artistic flourish of FIAC, an exceptional hub of creativity.
