Although New York has been casting a long shadow over Paris for some time, the City of Light has since pulled ahead in the Fashion World Capital stakes. During the 10 days of Fashion Week 2018, all future trends will be scrutinised and analysed by journalists from around the world. The big fashion houses cannot afford to be absent and the Grand Palais becomes the venue for a celebration of all that is exciting about the world of couture.
A glamorous event
Paris is synonymous with fashion and luxury, as well as with glamour. Paris Fashion Week is a global platform from which the world’s top couturiers launch their latest collections. It’s also an event that bubbles over with celebrities, as actors, supermodels and singers gather together at the events and in the places where they love to be seen.
Don’t forget to book your tickets now. Places are snapped up quickly and some fashionistas tick an event on their agenda as soon as it’s announced, up to two years before it takes place. The stars of haute couture are expected, as well as numerous lesser-known but equally interesting designers. Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy and Dior will provide the most popular fashion shows, while foreign houses will try to make their mark. Other parades are scheduled prior to February 27th, during which the big names of the future will emerge.
